Moorabbin Obedience Dog Club
Obedience At Moorabbin our training instructors will show you how to train your dog, commencing with on-lead exercises and progressing to off-lead work. Training is teaching your dog to respond in a certain manner to commands, these commands can be verbal or can be in the form of hand signals. At MODC we use a wide variety of training methods to suit all handlers including but not limited to positive reinforcement rewards such as food, toys and praise. We have a special class for Puppies 3-6 months, where we focus on socialisation as well as basic obedience.
Agility Once your dog has met a certain standard in Obedience and is at least 10 months old, you can start Agility classes. Here we spend time introducing the equipment to both handler and dog, gradually advancing to the full Agility Ring at trialling standard. For new members to Agility there is an Introductory class called Foundation Class all members who participate in this class are expected to attend all of the Class lessons, complete the weekly readings and practise the homework daily exercises with your dog.
Rally Rally Obedience (also known as Rally) is a fun, new dog-sport based on traditional dog Obedience but carried out in a more informal and relaxed style. Unlike in traditional obedience, handlers are allowed to encourage their dogs during the course, so you may use as much verbal praise and petting as you like. |
