MOORABBIN OBEDIENCE DOG CLUB
Resumption of Training, 2020
The Club is delighted that we have been able to recommence obedience classes on a Sunday. Emails have been sent to all members with important information regarding rules and guidelines that MUST be strictly followed.
Class sizes are restricted to numbers and times are different to what you are used to. If you have not received an email, please contact the club firstname.lastname@example.org
Wednesday night classes will not be happening until further notice
Disciplines that require equipment have not yet restarted (Agility, Rally, Flyball, Fun Class). Once the numbers permitted on the ground increase sufficiently these classes will resume.
No new members can be taken at this time but this will be regularly reviewed.
Entry and exit points will be in place for the oval. The canteen will remain closed. The club rooms may only be used for getting to the toilets, no other reason.
This continues to be a big test time for the club. Please be patient. Don't take your frustrations out on the instructors/volunteers etc.
Hoping we will get back to normal soon.
Resumption of Prepuppy Classes
There are a limited number of places for prepuppy classes that will be restarting on Thursday nights. Bookings for these classes are essential and must be made by phoning Sue or Pam on 0437 508 477
Moorabbin Obedience Dog Club was established in 1972. We offer a wide variety of activities including Obedience, Agility, Rally and pre-puppy. The training methods used at MODC focus primarily on positive reinforcement through food, toys and praise as well as negative punishment which simply means withholding the positive reinforcement. There is a big emphasis on the importance of a well socialised dog and how socialisation doesn't end at pre-puppy but continues for the life of the dog.
We are also a trialling club and as well as hosting our own Obedience, Agility and Rally trials every year, have had many dogs compete successfully at the highest levels of competition over the past 41 years.
Moorabbin Obedience dog club caters for all standards puppy socialisation through to competition Obedience, Rally and Agility.
Training sessions are held on a Sunday morning.
The club holds Open trials in each of the disciplines we offer training for as well as member only competitions at various times in the year.
